Both the Monte Carlo buttstock and the forestock are checkered and made with genuine American walnut wood. The round blued steel barrel is void of any iron sights that may get in the way of a scoped rifle. Like other rimfire rifles, the Lever Action Magnum Express uses a cock safety mechanism so that there are no external safety switches or toggles. For squirrels, groundhogs, prairie dogs, rabbits, beavers, and even slightly larger, the .22 Mag is a true powerhouse.
