The Talon was purpose-built to bring the lightweight features of the Backountry 2.0 family into the Vanguard line-up. It features Peak 44's Blacktooth carbon fiber stock which weighs only 19oz making it one of the lightest production stocks on the market. Equipped with an Accubreak and 3D Hex Recoil pad, the Talon manages recoil extremely well even with Weatherby's historic magnum cartridges. Vanguard barrels are cold hammer forged which makes them much more accurate and reliable than other rifles in their price range. To back this up, all Vanguards are guaranteed to shoot a 3-shot group of .99 or less at 100 yards (SUB-MOA) from a cold barrel when used with Weatherby factory or premium ammunition. The Vanguard Talon a 3-position safety, two-stage match grade trigger and fluted bolt body. All Vanguards have a one-piece machined bolt body and a fully enclosed bolt sleeve. They also sport an integral recoil lug and hinged floorplate.
